Our Process

A Comprehensive Approach

From the the initial consultation to installation, every aspect of your building energy upgrade is carefully planned and executed to align with your specific needs and preferences, ensuring your home or business becomes more energy-efficient and you save on your energy bills. We take extra care in designing systems tailored to your space, comfort preferences, and efficiency goals. Once we’ve taken the time to understand your needs and assess your home’s requirements, we’ll recommend the best system for you. Our goal is to provide reliable, energy-efficient solutions that keep you comfortable year-round.

Building Energy Assessment

Every project starts with a phone or email consultation and a free site visit, where we use 3D modeling software to scan the building for accurate measurements and structural details. During this visit we consider the building structure and envelope, occupancy, environmental needs and comfort.

We’ll have a conversation with you, the home or building owner, about your preferences and concerns, the optimal project timeline, and efficiency goals.

Sizing

Many home and building owners are unaware if their heating systems are oversized and often accept their energy costs as normal. They rely on heating professionals to properly size and select equipment in their best interest. If the estimated heat loss is too low, the building will be uncomfortable during cold weather. Too high and the systems will not only cost more to install, they will also have lower heat source efficiency, wasting thousands of dollars worth of fuel over the life of the system.

Before designing any heating system, we always calculate the heating and cooling load for each room using accurate methods and reliable data.

Design

The information gathered during the site visit (and from the residential energy audit if one was completed) is used to recreate the building in a drawing-based software, which will run the Manual J calculations and produce the heating load in BTUs. This is the number we use to select accurately sized equipment and calculate the New York State Clean Heat rebate amount.

We prepare a free quote for the customer or multiple quotes if they wish to compare different options and pricing. The equipment and its size in BTUs, the necessary material components required for installation, how the system will be zoned, and all applicable rebate deductions are all included in the quote.

Installation

Once your equipment has been installed, our technicians will conduct a post-installation inspection, which includes testing the system performance, ensuring safety through leak and electrical checks, calibrating the thermostat, inspecting for compliance, and cleaning the site. Finally, the home or building owner will be provided with a system demonstration, maintenance tips, and the warranty details for their new equipment.

All that’s left for the customer to do is enjoy the comfort and energy savings generated by their newly installed system.
